Les mots du jour: Anaphore, amarissage …

Every year at this time, as part of the annual retrospective, the media comes out with a list of new words.  This morning (appropriately enough, in the Review section) the New York Times weighed in with a list of words that had either been coined in the course of 2012, or enjoyed a vogue.

Le Figaro also comes up with its own dozen, for French:


Oddly, two of the words on the NYTimes list  appear also on the French list: nomophobia and swag, thus continuing the present French penchant for anglicisms -- or rather, Americanisms -- which we discussed here:
