Never having been an Anglican, and now less than ever contemplating becoming one, it is not my place to comment on internal Church politics. But this comment from a reader of the New York Times, upon the occasion of the retirement of ABC Williams, did catch the attention:
As an atheist, I believe that Rowan Williams did an outstanding job to bring his church into the 21 century.
Hard to argue with that.
